The British Basketball League is proud to announce the long-awaited return of the All-Star Game, which will take place at the Copper Box Arena in London on Sunday, March 17 2024.
The Stratford-based arena will host the Men’s and inaugural Women’s All-Stars Games, which will showcase 20 star players from the Men’s League and 22 star players from the Women’s League, in an entertainment spectacle.
Back with a bang
Making a much-anticipated return to the British Basketball League, the 2024 All-Star Game will be a showdown between North and South. The squads will have at least one player represented from each Men’s and Women’s clubs, based on their team’s location (North or South), with fan votes deciding the pool of 10 starter players. Fan voting will open in early 2024.
After all the votes are tallied, the League will rank players by position (frontcourt or guard) in each pool. The three highest-voted-for frontcourt players and the two highest-voted-for guards (from each pool) are selected as starters.
Men’s North teams: Caledonia Gladiators, Cheshire Phoenix, Manchester Giants, Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles, B. Braun Sheffield Sharks.
Men’s South teams: Leicester Riders, London Lions, Bristol Flyers, Surrey Scorchers, Plymouth City Patriots.
Women’s North teams: Caledonia Gladiators, Durham Palatinates, Manchester Giants, Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles, B. Braun Sheffield Hatters.
Women’s South teams: Cardiff Met Archers, Essex Rebels, Leicester Riders, London Lions, Oaklands Wolves, Nottingham Wildcats.
Each team will be managed by a Head Coach, who is selected as the coach with the best League record within the North and South teams. The chosen Head Coaches will participate in a live-streamed draft where they will select their reserves, picking one from each club.
